Spirit of the Year (Class 8: Purim)

Join Reb David for this eighth monthly “Spirit of the Year” class and discussion series exploring the liturgy and spiritual themes of major Jewish holidays in “real time” with the calendar.  This month’s class explores Purim, a celebration of concealment, revelation and redemption. Why is this seemingly minor holiday such a focus of joy and frivolity? How can a holiday so seemingly frivolous also be so spiritually uplifting? And how is Purim like Yom Kippur? Using text, music and imagery, our class will enrich the experience of flowing with the cycle of Jewish time.

All classes and materials in English.  Open to all.  Free to members.  Dessert reception to follow.
