Community-led Shabbat with Capn Bob

It's summer.... Join us on Friday, August 11, when former Temple President Bob Berent leads the Sabbath service. Relax and enjoy this warm, intimate introduction to the Sabbath with us as we welcome the second Shabbat of August  (and the Shabbat just before our big "shindig" by the sea) with spirit and song. "Captain Bob" will keep us on key with his accordion. We'll talk about tomorrow's Parashat Eikev. Celebratory oneg to follow.

We will gather at 9:45am for an authentic journey of mindfulness, chant and reflection, mapping to the spirituality of a traditional Shabbat morning. Free to all. Stories of the Shofar: Heaven’s Wake-Up Calls

Join your TBE family as we welcome back from Jerusalem Rebbetzin Emuna Witt-Halevi, a maggid (spiritual story teller) in the tradition of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, to open hearts and souls to the holy month of Elul and the High Holy Day season of teshuvah. In sadness and love, Temple Beth El of City Island announces the death of Roslyn Lichtman (Rachel bat Abraham Binyanim v'Sima), beloved mother of Leslie Lichtman-Berland and mother-in-law of Bill Berland.  Roslyn died Saturday after an illness. The funeral will be 1:30pm on Tuesday, October 24, at Beth Israel Cemetery (Woodbridge, New Jersey).  Rabbi Eva Sax-Bolder will officiate.
