Blessing of the Fleet 2026

As summer comes to a close, here’s a video to keep that City Island summer vibe going.

Every year, the City Island Sail & Power Squadron hosts the Blessing of the Fleet.  Originally a Catholic tradition, blessing the fishermen who risked their lives at sea, now it is a multi-faith celebration of all things nautical.  We do acknowledge the Squadron members who have passed, but otherwise, it’s a light hearted boat parade and a warm interfaith gathering.

In this video you can see a great highlight reel of the day, and you’ll probably guess the singer before you see her.

Big thanks to the Commander Gary Mandarano, SN and P/C Barbara Mandarano, SN for making the day such a great one!
